Your laboratory · Your recovery copies
A recovery copy.
In your own Google Drive.
Laboratory Backup is an optional feature of the Life Heart Laboratory portal. It helps an authorized laboratory owner keep encrypted copies of laboratory records in a connected Google account.
Feature availability: Google Drive backup is being prepared for this portal. Connection, automatic uploads and restore are available only after the portal release and account setup are complete. This information website does not connect to your Google account.
How it works
You choose the account.
You control access.
Connect from your portal
The laboratory owner starts the connection from Backup & recovery, signs in on Google's page and reviews the requested file permission.
Keep an encrypted copy
The portal encrypts the backup before uploading it to a dedicated Laboratory encrypted backups folder. It reads the uploaded file back to check that the copy matches.
Download and restore when needed
The owner can retrieve a backup created by the current connection. Restoring requires the backup passphrase and the portal's owner authorization. Keep that passphrase separately and check recovery copies periodically.
Clear boundaries
A backup for recovery
App files only
Google permission is limited to drive.file. The feature uses its own backup folder and files; it does not request access to your entire Drive.
Your portal keeps working data
Google Drive holds recovery copies. Your portal remains the working system for bills, reports and records. A Drive backup does not provide live synchronization between devices.
Manual or scheduled copies
Manual, daily and weekly options are supported. Automatic copies require a valid Google connection and an active server schedule. Storage limits or a connection error can interrupt them.
The current Drive feature accepts encrypted backups up to 32 MiB each. Each saved copy uses space in the connected Google account. Existing copies are not automatically removed by disconnecting the portal.
Before you connect
Know what is stored
A backup can contain confidential patient, report, billing, account and other laboratory records. The laboratory owner is responsible for choosing an appropriate Google account and handling these records lawfully.
For unattended copies, the portal stores its Google authorization token and a backup encryption key in encrypted form. The server can use that key to prepare backups; this is not a design in which only your device has access to the encryption key.
You can disconnect in the portal and remove the application's access in your Google account. For details about retention, deletion and service providers, read the Privacy Policy.
